Four farmers commit suicide due to the burden of debts.

Farmers in the state are facing severe financial crises. Issues such as drought, lack of proper support prices, and delayed investments in crops have pushed them into distress. Ranchandraiah, a farmer from Veerareddipalli in Yadadri district, cultivated cotton but suffered heavy losses due to unfavorable weather conditions. With mounting debts and no means to repay them, he tragically ended his life by consuming pesticides. Similarly, Devayya from Pothugallu in Siricilla district grew rice, but due to water scarcity, his crops dried up, leading him to take his own life.

In Bhupalpally district's Mogullapalli, Raju, and Vemulapalli in Mahabubabad district, Venkatanna faced similar hardships. Struggling with significant losses, they became trapped in a cycle of debt. Unable to find a way to repay their loans and deeply concerned about the survival of their families, they ended their lives. With the rising costs of seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, combined with low yields, farmers are under immense financial pressure.

These farmer suicides have sparked widespread discussions across the state. Opposition parties are blaming the government, accusing it of failing to provide adequate support for farmers. There is increasing demand for loan waivers, subsidies, and better irrigation facilities to address the growing distress. If the government does not act swiftly, the situation may worsen. Without policies offering sustainable livelihoods, the agricultural sector is at risk of sinking further into crisis.
