Pregnant Women and New Mothers: Be Cautious

In Andhra Pradesh, cybercriminals are targeting pregnant women and new mothers through fake links and messages, attempting to defraud them. They are sending messages claiming to provide financial assistance through the 'Janani Suraksha Yojana' scheme and stealing bank details to siphon off money from their accounts. The Bapatla SP Tushar Dudi has informed the Health Department about these scams. For more updates, visit Vaartha.

The fraudsters initially collect details from Anganwadi workers and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs). Afterward, they gather the phone numbers of pregnant women and new mothers and send fake messages via WhatsApp. They attempt to make the messages convincing by using the Chief Minister's photo.

Authorities are advising pregnant women and new mothers to be cautious. They emphasized that the government would never ask for personal bank details. If any doubts arise, they suggest verifying the information through official government websites or helplines. If such fake messages are received, they are urged to report them to the Cyber Crime Department immediately.
